This week I have rebranded my blog as Holos. This reflects my commitment to Holos as a big part of my future.
Holos is a leadership, culture and change consultancy. We are two partners and around 150 colleagues around the world known collectively as The Faculty. Most of The Faculty have been recruited by BP or Barclays or both to help with their respective leadership development projects. We are a mix highly experienced independent facilitators, trainers, coaches and consultants.
Holos offers organisations access to this exceptional group to help develop the kind of leadership, culture and behaviours that lead to sustained success. We do this through inspirational talks, transformative workshops, engaging training and deep coaching. These help individuals, teams and leaders understand; themselves, each other, the future, change, leadership, teamwork and their business better and change their behaviours accordingly.
We do this because we believe passionately in a better sort of leadership, the kind of leadership that enables everyone it touches to achieve more than they thought they were capable of and that leaves individuals, organisations and society better off. Holos is committed to helping to make this kind of leadership ubiquitous globally within seven generations.
Brilliant leadership is critical in the pursuit of better. Having studied leadership for over 50 years between us, both as practitioners, in theory, as teachers and up close to leaders of globally significant businesses we can clearly see both the opportunity and the path to brilliant leadership.
There are no born leaders. Leadership is an art and a discipline that needs to be studied and practiced intensively to become good at it. Any truly brilliant leaders you come across will have worked hard at it.
All outcomes of an organisation are mediated by the culture. A positive, inspiring and disciplined culture will engage people to great work and discretionary effort while maintaining standards at every level. With the right culture the chances of success are drastically increased and the chances of corporate crises are drastically reduced.
Culture is defined by leadership, which is why it is so critical to develop the best possible leadership in order to enable the best possible culture.
For most organisations all of the above implies change, it is also true to say that leadership implies change. Intentional change only occurs in the presence of leadership.
Holos believes that “Change is Easy”. We believe this because we all know, from our own experience, that we have experienced change that has been easy as well as hard. We have distilled out the factors that make change easy and turned them into a process that we deploy with leaders to help them to make change easy within their organisation and through the medium of culture.
